Fancy Dress.

Fancy dress, without a doubt, is the most common, hilarious and sometimes embarrassing night out for a student. While it is true that I will leave University with a degree, great memories, experience & friends, I will also be departing with a suitcase full of random items of clothing, hats, jewelry and fabric. Thankyouverymuch.
Birthdays are without a doubt the holy grail for fancy dress themes. As soon as you get the Facebook invite, head on down to Primark (make-shift fancy dress heaven) and get creative! We have managed to fashion many an outfit out of a £4 rug and a t-shirt!
I don't think I could even list all the fancy dress themes we have attended over the past 2 years, but they have ranged from the more traditional, hello : Army, Sailors, Cave-girls, Geeks, Golfers and Ravers.

To the more obscure : Grannies, PJs, Clowns, Noah's Ark and Elves.

So whatever outfit, theme or occasion, remember: you will lose an item of your fancy dress. You will wake up with you bed sheets covered in paint. And you will be de-tagging some horrific Facebook pictures. All in the spirit of fancy dress. Why not, eh?

A simple guide to a wild night out.

Right, so my advice for any night out consists of two, vital words: Pre-drinks. Pre-drinks is basically the Mecca of any night out, and is usually my favorite part of the night! Think drinking games, beer bongs, chants and ruthless games of 'I have never' and et voila... you have a stumbling, incoherent mess that's ready to hit any dance floor. Here are a few of my personal fave pre-drinks-antics that have served me well and are guaranteed to send you on your merry way:
1. Flip cup - Basically it's a relay race with cups. Choose your team, fill your cups, down your drink and FLIP!
2. I have never - Always amusing and never gets old! Great for exposing secrets or dragging up embarrassing moments your mates would rather forget! (HELLO naked pictures, sex in strange places and comments you'd rather forget twice, twice massive).
3. Beer bongs - Massive funnel, long tube and a disgusting mix of alcohol, what more could you want?
4. Arrogance - All you need is a pint glass & a coin. Pour some drink into the glass & guess heads or tails. Get it right, then pass the glass on, get it wrong & you down the drink.

Before you can begin the drinking games however, you need to choose your drink! Be it wine, beer, cider or vod make it cheap and cheerful (the moto of student life) and you're sorted.  Or for an even cheaper option, buy a mix of bargain alcohol with your mates, grab some kind of container and shove it all in. We have only done this twice, and the last time someone may have ended up in A&E. If by 'may', I mean 'did'. Worth a try though.

YUM.

Once you are suitably intoxicated (or a certain keen friend orders a taxi & brings your fun to an end) it's time to head on out. There's not much advice to give vis-a-vis the actual night out. Get a few more bevvies down you, have a boogie, get a cheeky pull and have a fight, or five if your name is Bekah Edwards. Remember: you WILL lose you friends at some point and someone WILL chunder. Standard.

What can I say, there is only one way to end any night out, a greasy takeaway that you wouldn't think twice about if your were sober. Spend your last couple of quid on a burger, cheesy chips, or in my case chicken nuggets (not great when you're supposed to be a veggie, sozza). Then head on home ready to pass out on your bed, or mine thankyouverymuch Charlie & Bekah.

However, there have also been many occasions when we have all piled back to one house, and a mini-drunken rampaged has occurred. Noodle fights, broken plates, chundering, food stealing/ eating/ throwing/ smashing/ burning, continued arguments (that's you Edwardo!), sleepovers and drunken heart to hearts. A hectic end to a messy night.

There you have it in a nutshell, it may be simple, but always remember, pre-drinks is the way forward & as a result you will hopefully have an awsome night and the hangover from hell.

Basically, end up like this & you know you're onto a winner!
