The Boredom Killer.

I am currently sat on my bed, in a freezing house, bored out of my little brain. So, instead of actually doing some work, I thought I would write about a few ways to cure the inevitable curse of student boredom.
There are actually plenty of much more constructive things I could be doing with my time; Clean this stinking house, do some work or even get some use out of my gym membership. However, these things take way too much effort, and I don't want to jeopardize my lazy title. That would be a disaster.
So, I've come up with a few solutions to ease the pain of boredom that will hopefully bring some joy into our jam-packed student schedules. (Or maybe just those of us with doss courses)
Let's start with the most basic and obvious distraction for about 99.9% of the whole student population. And possibly the world?
1. Facebook - Ahhh, where would we be without it?! (Well, I would probably be rolling with a 1st in every essay, but that's another story) Yes, Facebook is a wonderful distraction and there is nothing better than having a good stalk when you're bored or mindlessly refreshing the homepage in hope of an exciting status. If you're feeling really wild a bit of Facebook rape is always a great way to pass the time. Be it pregnancy, engagements, crude statuses or comments to your boss (YES Bekah Edwards), it will keep you amused for all of about 10 minutes. Ok, now I think about it Facebook is a huge waste of time. But I'm an addict. Facebook. Is. God.
2. Singstar - Possibly the best game ever invented? We play this game constantly and it has provided us with hours (and probably days) worth of entertainment. True, we are not the best singers in the world. True, we annoy our housemates with our warbling. But it is just so much fun.

3. Make random things - Be it charts, posters, new drinking games, blogs - whatever. We decided to brighten up our lounge by creating different charts for the walls. We have a list of drinking games, 'Ring of Fire' rules, a huge chart with the all the different pub/ bars/ clubs that we aim to go to by the end of the year & this:
A chart with different tallys and goals for us to achieve throughout the year! I'm not going to lie, it's our pride & joy. How gay?!
4. Annoy people - Kind of similar to above. This can involve room or house rape: simply choose your victim, enter their room & totally terrorise it. Hanging toy chickens from a window is a fave. As is drawing on potatoes and hiding them in people's flats.

Anyway, I should probably do something slightly more productive, so till next time, bizzle x

A simple guide to a wild night out.

Right, so my advice for any night out consists of two, vital words: Pre-drinks. Pre-drinks is basically the Mecca of any night out, and is usually my favorite part of the night! Think drinking games, beer bongs, chants and ruthless games of 'I have never' and et voila... you have a stumbling, incoherent mess that's ready to hit any dance floor. Here are a few of my personal fave pre-drinks-antics that have served me well and are guaranteed to send you on your merry way:
1. Flip cup - Basically it's a relay race with cups. Choose your team, fill your cups, down your drink and FLIP!
2. I have never - Always amusing and never gets old! Great for exposing secrets or dragging up embarrassing moments your mates would rather forget! (HELLO naked pictures, sex in strange places and comments you'd rather forget twice, twice massive).
3. Beer bongs - Massive funnel, long tube and a disgusting mix of alcohol, what more could you want?
4. Arrogance - All you need is a pint glass & a coin. Pour some drink into the glass & guess heads or tails. Get it right, then pass the glass on, get it wrong & you down the drink.

Before you can begin the drinking games however, you need to choose your drink! Be it wine, beer, cider or vod make it cheap and cheerful (the moto of student life) and you're sorted.  Or for an even cheaper option, buy a mix of bargain alcohol with your mates, grab some kind of container and shove it all in. We have only done this twice, and the last time someone may have ended up in A&E. If by 'may', I mean 'did'. Worth a try though.

YUM.

Once you are suitably intoxicated (or a certain keen friend orders a taxi & brings your fun to an end) it's time to head on out. There's not much advice to give vis-a-vis the actual night out. Get a few more bevvies down you, have a boogie, get a cheeky pull and have a fight, or five if your name is Bekah Edwards. Remember: you WILL lose you friends at some point and someone WILL chunder. Standard.

What can I say, there is only one way to end any night out, a greasy takeaway that you wouldn't think twice about if your were sober. Spend your last couple of quid on a burger, cheesy chips, or in my case chicken nuggets (not great when you're supposed to be a veggie, sozza). Then head on home ready to pass out on your bed, or mine thankyouverymuch Charlie & Bekah.

However, there have also been many occasions when we have all piled back to one house, and a mini-drunken rampaged has occurred. Noodle fights, broken plates, chundering, food stealing/ eating/ throwing/ smashing/ burning, continued arguments (that's you Edwardo!), sleepovers and drunken heart to hearts. A hectic end to a messy night.

There you have it in a nutshell, it may be simple, but always remember, pre-drinks is the way forward & as a result you will hopefully have an awsome night and the hangover from hell.

Basically, end up like this & you know you're onto a winner!

Till next time, bizzle x

Introducing... Katie Nelson

Ignore what the other two say; I am the one and only, the coolest.
Ok, I never was that great at introductions, so I guess I'll start with the basics.
I'm Katie. 20. From Crewe (& for the southerners out there it's t'up north). I'm studying Journalism, Media & Cultural Criticism at Cardiff University, however I tell the majority that I'm studying Journalism, because if I'm honest Cult Crit is a load of bull.

Bekah & Charlie have, rather harshly in my humble opinion, labeled me as the lazy one. True, I do love a bit of onesie time and I wouldn't say no to a cheeky afternoon nap, but what else is a girl to do when a certain Charlie keeno Morris constantly has her head in a book?! All I want in my life is for people to entertain me 24/7, and when this doesn't happen sleep seems to be the best alternative. However, credit where credit's due, Bekah does keep me entertained most days, be it Singstar, bitching in bed or sneaking into people's houses (sorry boys).

Katie. Bekah. Charlie. Possibly the greatest three individuals you will ever meet in your life - and probably the most annoying. I'm only going to admit this once, but we must be a nightmare to live with. HELLO 4am noodle fights, drunken arguments (usually centred around a rather angry, argument loving Bekah), continous shouts of play with meee, mess, pranks and VERY loud singing. But honestly, apart from that we are rather amazing. So follow our advice & you too could be this keen, lazy & angry. What more could you want?

Introducing... Bekah

Hiiiiiiii :)

Not sure exactly what to say as I'm currently cringing at the thought of writing an introduction. So I guess I'll start by saying I'm Bekah. I'm 20 years old and I'm studying Journalism, Film and Media at Cardiff University. Like Morris, I'm from good ol' Cheltenham in Gloucestershire (Yes, there is a racecourse there!!)
I'd like to think I'm your typical, average student. I enjoy nothing more than a wild night out with my fellow housemates and friends from first year halls. Dirty pints, Beer bongs, drinking games and chants.. That's how I roll. I also love a good snuggle in Katie's bed using her ginormus breasts as a pillow. And believe me, those bad boys are HUGE. Failing that, I'll be in my room, drinking a cup of tea and watching Eastenders. Let's just say I probably play harder than I work..

So yeah.. that's about all I can think of to say about myself.

Better say a little bit about the gruesome twosome. Firstly, there is Charlie Morris. This one can usually be found in the library with her head in a massive pile of books. Gets up at the crack of dawn, is easily excited, belongs in an Enid Blyton novel and is generally just an enormous freak.

Then there is Katie Nelson. AKA. The Slough. Literally just give her a onesie and a bed and you're in. She's probably asleep right now..

Anyway, I'm not going to sit here all day and ramble on for ages. Although, I apologize in advance for anyone subjected to a MASSSSSSIVE long essay by Charlie 'too cool for school' Morris. I doubt you'll get much of an introduction from Nelson either as she's most probably exceeded her daily hour of movement by now.
